Leysop 4mm RTP Pockels Cell

                      Different drivers have been built for this Pockels cell. One driver is used for a pulse picker operating
                      with a laser oscillator running at 50 MHz. For this application rise time was not a prime consideration.
                      Rather, it was necessary to operate at or above 1MHz.

                      For another application rise time was considered to be critical. Also it was necesssary to generate
                      bursts with 10MHz repetiton rate for times as long as 10 milliseconds. This driver can make an
                      average of 500000 pulses per second.

                      This oscilloscope trace below shows the measurement of the optical transmission in a single-pass setup
                      measured with a photodiode of risetime 1nsec.
                      Parameters: 1064nm, 1.3kV, time difference of On/Off triggers 40nsec.

                      This oscilloscope trace below shows the measurement of the optical transmission in a single-pass setup
                      in continius operation measured with a photodiode of risetime 1nsec. In order to reduce rise and fall times,
                      the time difference between the On/Off triggers was reduced, at the same time increasing the drive voltage
                      to the cell.
                      Parameters: 1064nm, 1.75kV, time difference of On/Off triggers 6nsec.

                      The oscilloscope trace below shows the measurement of a 1MHz burst of 5msec duration
                      measured with a photodiode of risetime 1nsec.

                      The oscilloscope trace below shows the measurement of a 10MHz burst of 6 microseconds duration
                      measured with a photodiode of risetime 1nsec.
                      The maximun burst-length for this driver is 10ms @ 10MHz reprate.

                                         10MHz Burst, 6us Burst-length
