Depending on the Pockels cell material, our standard pulse-picking Pockels cell drivers guarantee extiction ratios of > 1 : 1000 with a 0.1% / 99% rise/falltime of ~6.5ns. For slow pulse-picking applications (e.g. oscillator frequencies of < 80MHz) that is sufficient. If the same contrast ratio is needed for higher oscillator frequencies (e.g. 140MHz), the driver needs to be calibrated to a specific Pockels cell. The figure below shows the measurement of Leysops EM510 Pockels cell after optimizing the driver for fast rise/falltimes and high contrast ratio. The measurement was taken with our high contrast sampling setup.
